I’ll preface this post by saying that I am not a “real” cyclist, but a 60yr old beginner triathlete looking to train at home on the bike as it is SO much easier than going out into the traffic and risking life and limb to get the training hours in.
I’m not sure but my original FIRST IMPRESSIONS post doesn’t seem to be here, (knowing me I did something wrong) so at the risk of boring everyone to death here goes…
VG took FOREVER to download, load and start up (I’m using Macbook 2008 with 6Gb ram self installed)
The login and the setup were smooth and easy enough
The ride itself was a nightmare, for some reason my Macbook ran redhot and the images on the screen (i.e. my avatar and the road scenery) were jerky to the point of being unusable 4FPS at one stage
The reaction time of the “buttons” was also very slow, and the tiny text doesn’t help. Can we change this?
I bought and ANT+ dongle
Still running very slow (8frames/sec) for some button clicks
The graphics were sketchy but the FPS probably had a huge impact on this.
VituGO easily found my POWER and CADENCE (on my budget “Elite Aleno” ANT+ and/or Bluetooth Smart/Dumb trainer)
But I just cannot get it to pick up my TomTom Multisports HR watch (Bluetooth) - any ideas?
I don’t know if it even is possible to use the two protocols BT and ANT+ at the same time?
But this would be a GREAT fix!
Otherwise budget guys like myself will just have to splash out on a more expensive HR watch, and I have 5 kids. Not gonna happen :0)
POWER numbers seem low? I can quite happily pedal at 130-150W for 30mins on other devices, but I had to work hard to even reach even 100W on VirtuGO
I felt like my lungs would burst at 130W - Can this be fixed?
These are still only my first (honest) impressions and I’m not giving up
I love the app and the possibility to “influence” the design of the user interface by my feedback
Hope this helps
